CHARLESTON, Ill. Nike Roshe Two Flyknit . -- Montell Goodwin, shooting his first free throws of the game, made both with 15 seconds left to snap a tie in Eastern Illinois 71-67 victory over Troy on Monday. After Kevin Baker missed a long 3-pointer for the Trojans (2-2), Cornell Johnston added two more free throws with two seconds left for EIU (3-2).Jeremy Hollimon was fouled on a layup and his 3-point play tied the game for Troy with 1:08 remaining. Hollimon missed a pair of free throws with 39 seconds remaining. Johnston then missed a 3-pointer, Troys Juan Davis Jr. grabbed the rebound but traveled. EIU called timeout and Goodwin was fouled on the inbounds pass.Demetrius McReynolds scored 19 points to lead EIU. Goodwin added 16.Baker scored 15 points and Jordon Varnado had 11 points and 11 rebounds. The two teams played Nov. 14 at Troy with the Trojans winning 70-67 on Varnados jumper with 3.4 seconds left. Nike Roshe One Hombre . Paul Pierce couldnt believe he missed at the end. TAMPA, Fla. -- Buccaneers nickelback Jude Adjei-Barimah has been suspended for four games for violating the NFLs policy on performance-enhancing substances, according to a league spokesperson.I take a lot of pride in the hard work and dedication that I put in all year in preparation for each season and that is why this situation is so difficult for me personally, Adjei-Barimah said in a statement. As a member of this team, it is very disappointing to have to miss the next four games and not be out there battling with my teammates as we go down the stretch. I apologize to my family, the Bucs organization, my teammates, as well as the fans for this situation. I promise to stay focused and be ready for the last two games of the regular season. His suspension is effective immediately. MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Zach Davies has been on the mound both times his teammates have turned a triple play this season. In one season, to be on the mound for two triple plays, thats like a dolphin in Lake Michigan, Brewers manager Craig Counsel said. The triple play put an abrupt end to a first-inning threat and the Brewers got a milestone home run from Chris Carter and a late clutch hit from Ryan Braun to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 5-4 on Friday night. In the first inning, Jose Peraza singled under the glove of Milwaukee third baseman Jonathan Villar and Scott Schebler reached on an error by Villar. With the runners in motion, Joey Votto hit a shot down the first base line that Carter snagged, taking away an extra base hit. Carter stepped on first and then lobbed a throw to shortstop Orlando Arcia, who stepped on second for the third out.The Brewers turned a triple play at home on April 29 against Miami.Little bit of a flashback, Davies said. It put the momentum back on our side. To get out of that with nothing was awesome.Milwaukee has eight triple plays in franchise history. We got three outs on a play when Joey Votto was at bat. That was the biggest thing for me, Counsell said. That had a chance to be a big inning, for sure.Carter said he knew immediately of the potential for a triple play when both runners broke before the pitch. My first thought was to touch first because I knew they both ran, Carter said.Cincinnati manager Bryan Price said the runners were in motion in an effort to provide a much-needed offensive spark. The one thing that cant happen is hitting a line drive right at an infielder, he said. That was one where you just say, `Geez.Carter hit his 38th home run of the season, a career high, leading off the second against Anthony DeSclafani (8-4).The biggest thing, after last year, was bouncing back and having a good year and being consistent, Carter said.Peraza put the Reds in front with a three-run homer with one out in the fifth. Canada Goose Bebe Prix. The Brewers scored in the sixth on Carters RBI groundout to cut the lead to 3-2. Carter has a career-high 90 RBI.Milwaukee loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh, chasing DeSclafani. Scooter Gennett drew a walk off reliever Tony Cingrani to tie the score. Milwaukee regained the lead when Braun followed with a two-run single off Blake Wood.Brent Suter (2-1) retired the only batter he faced to get the victory.Tyler Thornburg gave up a run in the ninth but notched his 13th save in 18 tries.LOBBYING TO CATCHHernan Perez made his second consecutive start in center field and has played every position this season except catcher and pitcher. Perez has been dropping hints that he wants a chance to catch. I have walked by him, turned around, and hes there in a squat waiting to catch, Counsell said.TRAINERS ROOMReds: Price said LHP Brandon Finnegan will start the series finale on Sunday. RHP Homer Bailey (biceps) had been considered after throwing a bullpen session on Tuesday. Im just not ready to commit that (Bailey) is in the rotation, Price said. We just havent gotten to that point yet.Brewers: Pinch-hitter Jake Elmore appeared to get hit on the left hand while attempting to bunt in the fifth inning. He then stumbled out of the box and fell to the ground. He gingerly hopped on one leg after getting up before slowly walking off the field with a team trainer at his side.UP NEXTReds: Dan Straily (13-8, 3.83 ERA) is 2-0 with a 1.77 ERA in three starts against the Brewers this season. Straily has nine wins since the All-Star break, tied for the most in the National League.Brewers: Taylor Jungmann (0-4, 8.34) will make his first start since being recalled from Double-A Biloxi on Sept. 6. Jungmann, whose last start for the Brewers came on April 28, is 0-7 with a 9.35 ERA over his last 10 starts for Milwaukee. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '
Australias coach Darren Lehmann has guaranteed the places of just four members of the Hobart Test XI. Trent Richardson Jersey .On a day South Africa completed a dominant series victory, the Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland and high performance chief Pat Howard joined former players for introspective talks on the state of the team in the Bellerive Oval dressing room.Lehmann, who has been told to reinvent himself by Howard, stated that only the captain Steven Smith, his deputy David Warner and the pacemen Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood are safe from the axe ahead of next weeks day-night Test in Adelaide. All members of the team apart from Starc, Hazlewood and the seamer Joe Mennie are to play in the Sheffield Shield round starting on Thursday, in a departure from previous plans.Weve got to stop the rot, weve got to work out what the best XI is, Lehmann said. Guys playing this Test match, some were disappointed in their performances and they get the chance to play the Shield game to put their hand up. I thought Hazlewood was great, Starcs getting back to his best and then youve got Smith and Warner.Outside of that everyones got to make some runs and take some wickets. Its a really important four days of Shield cricket. The lads are really keen to get out of here and get ready to play that game and prepare the best they can. Spots, performances are going to count, but youve got to have an eye to the future as well, its that juggling act. These words mean that numerous medium-term members of the team are under enormous pressure to keep their places, including the spin bowler Nathan Lyon, the most experienced player in the side and the custodian of the team victory song - not sung since February in New Zealand. Adam Voges, who is averaging less than 15 over his past 10 Test innings, and wicketkeeper Peter Nevill also seem to be in the firing line.Like everyone else, down, Lehmann said when asked about Voges mood. Adams been a very good player for us for 20-odd Test matches, end of the day hes got to go back and make runs like everyone else. Wed love someone to stand up and bat big, I think weve had two hundreds in the last five Test matches and they were both in one innings. So we havent had big runs from anyone.Sutherland and Howard flew into Hobart on Tuesday in time to address the team after their innings defeat, the first at home since the summer of 2010-11. Former players Mark Taylor, Ian Healy, Shane Warne, Michael Slater and Tom Moody also spent time with the team. Weve had James and Pat talk to us, and thats about going forward and sticking together, Lehmann said. I know theres a lot of criticism out there and thats deserved because we havent been winning. We have to cop that and live with that. For us its about stopping that, turning it around. Theyre all great kids, great staff members, they work hard. We just havent had results go our way.Young batsmen expected to be considered for selection include the elegant NSW left-hander Kurtis Patterson, the South Australia captain Travis Head, and another Redback in Jake Lehmann - the coachs son. Darren Lehmann indicated he would sit out of any selection discussion involving Jake Lehmann.I dont sit in on anything when they [the selectors] talk about Jake, and I dont know what theyre saying about Jake, Lehmann said. Not involved, and Id be that nervous anyway I probably wouldnt be coach. Id probably just go to the bar.The Test squad will be named on Sunday after the Shield round is complete, meaning the team will assemble in Adelaide on Monday, a day later than previously scheduled.Possible Test squad for Adelaide: Steven Smith (capt), David Warner, Joe Burns, Usman Khawaja, Kurtis Patterson, Callum Ferguson, Matthew Wade, Steve OKeefe, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird, Chadd Sayers Neiko Thorpe Raiders Jersey . WASHINGTON -- Joe Pavelski isnt the United States oldest player at the World Cup of Hockey, nor does he have the most skill, size, experience or even the best beard. Nike Air Max 90 Black Friday Sale .He just has the C on his chest.Pavelski has only been an NHL captain for one season, but the leader of the San Jose Sharks was given the leadership role for the Americans at the World Cup, which begins Saturday in Toronto. Its not a distinction he takes lightly even if hes not quite sure why coaches and players chose him over the likes of 2014 Olympic captain Zach Parise, New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh and others.Ive got a lot of respect for all these guys, and a lot of guys could do the job, Pavelski said Tuesday. Our performance last year mightve helped and the success we had leading (San Jose deep) in the playoffs. Those little things might help.Everyone else knows, and the answer is simple. Pavelski plays the game the way the U.S. wants to play it. Committed, gritty hockey, with skill and a straightforward style for coach John Tortorella and his staff.Theres not a lot of fluff to him, Tortorella said. He just plays. Hes not on the outside (of the rink). Hes skilled. Hes in the blue (crease). He is a complete player, and thats probably one of the best compliments you can give a guy is the word `complete and he is that.Dont confuse complete with Pavelski making up for a lack of production with intangibles. Few players produce quite like him.Only Alex Ovechkin has more NHL goals over the past three seasons than Pavelskis 116. Now 32, Pavelski is perhaps no longer one of the most underappreciated players in hockey. As Tortorella puts it, Pavelski is not a flashy guy, but he does everything in the game: offensively, defensively. He does everything really well.Complete is the kind of word Pavelski wants to hear about himself because it means hes doing his job -- well, all of his jobs. He will be a top-six center for the U.S. but should also be relied on as a key piece of the power play and the penalty kill.Thats how he wants it.You want to play in all the zones. I like taking faceoffs, I like blocking a shot, forechecking, Pavelski said. And at the end of the day you want to be that guy thats scoring goals and trying to help your team.No player had more ice time or goals in last seasons playoffs than Pavelski, who averaged 20:46 per game and scored 14 times while leading the Sharks to the Stanley Cup Final. And being captain in San Jose came with its own challenges as beloved veteran Joe Thornton was demoted to an alternate but remained a big voice in the locker room. That experience showcased Pavelskis leadership, but hes no stranger to international hockey. He also played for the U.S. at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics.Former St. Louis Blues captain David Backes called Pavelski an awesome choice to fill the captains role.Hes experienced, calm, level-headed, not afraid to say something when it needs to be said, Backes said. He knows his position in the league and on this team and hes certain of that and you see that confidence in him. ... Hes going to be the guy with the `C on his sweater and lead us on the ice, off the ice with his speech, with his example what he does every single shift. From that, we expect to follow and have great success.---Follow Stephen Whyno on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/SWhyno Chaquetas Moncler Baratas . Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has suggested the sport artificially reintroduce a bit of the risk factor by building walls around corners to prevent drivers going wide. The FIAs safety push is currently stronger than ever, with the controversial Halo device still slated for introduction in 2018 despite being abandoned for implementation next year. The Grand Prix Drivers Association has been at the forefront of that push following the death of Jules Bianchi last year from injuries sustained at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix.Ecclestone thinks races are now in danger of appearing too safe and has suggested a way to rectify that perception.Ive been criticized probably by everybody because I wanted to build 40cm walls around the corners. They keep saying they mustnt go off the road, I promise they wont, Ecclestone is quoted as saying by Reuters.. Abrigos Moncler Mujer Outlet. In [the old] days, and it cant happen again, people would come to a race and think somebody could get killed. Today they know they come to a race and nobody is going to get killed. Which is good.Ecclestone also thinks F1 should add some drama after accidents to keep audiences guessing whether the driver is injured, using Fernando Alonsos violent shunt in Australia as an example. What Fernando had in Australia ... you wouldnt think he was going to walk away. What we ought to do immediately after that happens is have big sheets all the way around, bring the ambulance in ... and take him away. Hes gone to the hospital and later on you announce that, thank God, hes out. A bit of showbiz. People like that. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '
While you may be an avid fan of a particular NHL team -- and keep up to date on all the news and rumors regarding that franchise -- there are 29 others playing in 2016-17. Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero 10 Cool Grey/Black/Blue Lagoon/White Running Shoes .As a fantasy owner, it can be a bit daunting to keep tabs on everything.Thats where the Fantasy 30 comes in -- a rundown of the most fantasy-relevant updates on every team. Heres whats happening around the NHL this week.Anaheim Ducks: The diplomatic wheels driving international labor relations churn slowly at times. Armed with a new six-year deal, but still awaiting his work visa, Hampus Lindholm is targeting next week to make his season debut. Maybe Wednesday in Columbus? Once legal, the 22-year-old defenseman is expected to claim his spot among the teams top pairing and power-play unit.Arizona Coyotes: Those who have followed the centermans career closely could tell you it was just a matter of time. An imposing, effective presence when healthy -- and arguably not consistently healthy enough -- Martin Hanzal is questionable for the game against the Predators. Suffering an undisclosed injury outside of game action, the 29-year-old pulled himself after the first period of Tuesdays eventual 3-2 victory over the Sharks. If Hanzal -- who had been centering a line with Max Domi and Radim Vrbata -- isnt good to go Thursday, look for fellow veteran Brad Richardson to, once again, chew up additional minutes down the middle. In fact, after scoring against the Sharks, and collecting two goals and two assists in his past three contests altogether, Richardson could serve as a useful and inexpensive asset in DFS play.Boston Bruins: Sidelined with an elbow injury since early last week, David Backes could rejoin the Bruins Saturday. That means youngster Austin Czarnik gets at least one more turn on a second scoring line alongside center David Krejci. Also, David Pastrnak returns to the Bs lineup Thursday in Tampa -- presumably alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand -- following his two-game suspension.Buffalo Sabres: Suffering a sprained knee earlier this week, defenseman Zach Bogosian is expected to miss approximately a month for the Sabres, according to media reports. After playing in the clubs opener, 24-year-old Casey Nelson has been recalled from Rochester to plug the top-four void. Nelson collected four assists and eight PIM in seven games with Buffalo last season.Calgary Flames: Will he stay or will he go? The wide-ranging consensus is that rookie Matthew Tkachuk has done enough to stick with the Flames past his nine-game tryout. The 18-year-old has performed well on a line with Mikael Backlund and Michael Frolik, notching a goal and three assists. Hes also seeing minutes with the secondary power play.Carolina Hurricanes: Making his NHL debut Tuesday, a recovered Ryan Murphy (lower-body injury) didnt much rattle the fantasy order of things on the Hurricanes blue line. A once promising threat, the former first-round draft pick (12th overall, 2011) quietly sits fourth on the team in prominence -- behind Justin Faulk, Noah Hanifin and Jaccob Slavin -- in most standard leagues.Chicago Blackhawks: Contract talks appear to be stagnant between Artemi Panarin and the Blackhawks. Hardly astonishing, since the $6 million per year demand from the restricted free agent doesnt easily squeeze in under Chicagos projected 2017-18 salary cap. However, fantasy folk shouldnt sweat this inert state of affairs at all -- in fact, Panarin will only feel additionally motivated in playing for his next (large) payout. After a minor hiccup to start 2016-17, last seasons Calder Trophy winner is picking up where he left off, potting four goals and six helpers in his past seven games.Colorado Avalanche: Were not tossing out a specific date, but dont be surprised if Calvin Pickard takes over as the Avalanches No. 1 at some point this season. As discussed by Mike Chambers of the Denver Post, Pickards future with the club appears more secure than that of his goaltending colleague. Theres a chance the Avs protect Calvin Pickard instead of Semyon Varlamov [in the upcoming expansion draft] ... because that might be the only way to get out of Varlamovs $5.9 million cap hit through 2018-19. And while Varlamov is considered the Avs top banana right now, that could change. And as it turns out, Pickard -- owned in only 2.7 percent of ESPN leagues -- has been the better netminder for Colorado to date.Columbus Blue Jackets: Cementing himself in as a fixture on the Blue Jackets top power-play unit, Sam Gagner is quickly emerging as a pleasant surprise in Columbus. With three goals -- including two with the extra skater -- on 10 shots in his past two games, the 27-year-old is a candidate to move up John Tortorellas even-strength depth chart as well. Possessing a streaky reputation, Gagner deserves a short-term look (at least) in deeper leagues and DFS competition at present.Dallas Stars: Sought for his penchant for penalty minutes, forward Antoine Roussel sports extra fantasy shine as a front-of-net presence on the Stars top power-play unit. Skating on a second scoring line with Jason Spezza at even strength, the feisty France native has 40 goals and 480 PIM in his past three seasons in Dallas.Detroit Red Wings: While Peter Mrazek (3.07 goals-against average, .908 save percentage) is pigeonholed as Detroits No. 1 this season and beyond, veteran Jimmy Howard (0.86 GAA, .973 save percentage) has been significantly better for the Red Wings in fewer starts. However, with six regulation wins after 11 games, the club will turn to the veteran more often if this trend continues. Fantasy owners with a need for quality goaltending should give Howard a long look if available.Edmonton Oilers: While Jesse Puljujarvi isnt immune from seeing action in the AHL altogether this campaign, hes building a strong case for hanging around Edmonton at present. Playing what many consider his best NHL game yet against the Maple Leafs Tuesday, the 18-year-old even experienced some action on a line with Connor McDavid. Might we see more of that combo in the near future? Puljujarvis fantasy owners should hope so. Owned in less than 10 percent of ESPN leagues, this guy is an obvious speculative grab in all but the shallowest leagues.Florida Panthers: Checking in with Floridas infirmary, both Jussi Jokinen and Nick Bjugstad are expected back sometime next week. So, competing in Jokinens spot on a second scoring line with Vincent Trocheck and Reilly Smith, Colton Sceviour has another couple of games, at minimum, to give coach Gerard Gallant second thoughts about resuming the status quo. The former Dallas forward netted a hat trick from that slot earlier this week.Los Angeles Kings: By placing Jonathan Quick on long-term injured reserve, the Kings have a greater amount of salary cap space (an additional $5,697,380) with which to temporarily improve their goaltending situation. We cant believe the club is content with coasting a Peter Budaj/Jeff Zatkoff (once healthy) tandem into the new year -- not in light of the latest implosion from the former. The Islanders trade block-dwelling Jaroslav Halak -- and his $4.5 million cap hit -- is the most obvious candidate to move out West. Free agent-wise, there are no obvious idle gems. Stay tuned.Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens are reportedly actively shopping for a top-four defenseman. Winnipeg holdout Jacob Trouba certainly fits the bill, as does Anaheims rumored trade candidate Cam Fowler. Depending on what deal ultimately goes down -- if any, of course -- all but Shea Weber could take a fantasy-value hit on the Habs blue line. That includes Andrei Markov, Nathan Beaulieu and Jeff Petry. Fantasy owners with a connected horse should keep a close ear.Minnesota Wild: Forward Jason Zucker is the most cutting-edge candidate to fill in for an injured Zach Parise on the Wilds top line aside center Eric Staal and Charlie Coyle, replacing recent substitute Nino Niederreiter. Spoken for in only 5 percent of ESPN leagues, and a cheapo asset in DFS, the 24-year-old Zucker scored 21 goals in only 51 games two seasons ago.Nashville Predators: If able, boot Mike Fisher out of your lineup for the next game or two; the Predators captain is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Our best guess is veteran Mike Ribeiro moves up to center the line with Calle Jarnkrok and Viktor Arvidsson.New Jersey Devils: The good news for fantasy owners invested in Pavel Zacha is the rookie projects to steer clear of Albany and remain up with the NHL Devils. The slightly dull lining is the 19-year-old has tumbled from centering star winger Taylor Hall to a third-line role. However, Zacha is still seeing quality minutes with the man advantage, and coach John Hynes hasnt offered any hint hes ready to shelve the lineup blender yet. For the record, Hall is currently skating with center Travis Zajac and winger Michael Cammalleri.New York Islanders: According to TSNs Darren Dreger, NHL teams arent exactly clamoring over one another to trade for Isles goalie Jaroslav Halak. However, the veteran netminder gets another shot at self-promotion with Thursdays start against the Flyers. Mind you, weighing the Islanders struggles as a whole, you might shy away from unleashing Halak in fantasy play until the squad improves, or the 31-year-old is shipped elsewhere. Dallas and Los Angeles are loosely rumored to be in the mix.New York Rangers: If one is on the fence about Kevin Hayes as fantasy asset, know that the forward has impressed teammate Rick Nash most to launch 2016-17: He lost 20 pounds and looks a lot faster, Nash said, per Elliotte Friedman. No doubt that extra gear helps Hayes in keeping up with new speedy linemate Michael Grabner, along with J.T. Miller. That inspired trio has combined for five goals and six assists in the Rangers past two games. And both Hayes and Grabner are retained in far less than 10 percent of ESPN leagues.Ottawa Senators: Look for new acquisition Mike Condon to fill in between the pipes while Craig Anderson takes some time off. Perfect (seven saves) in his 20-minute taste with the Penguins this autumn, Condon was hit and miss for the Canadiens in 2015-16, his first NHL season.Philadelphia Flyers: Recovering from an abdominal injury, Michael Raffl is expected to return Thursday after an eight-game absence. Prematurely projected to skate on a third line with Matt Read and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Raffl is likely to eventually bump rookie Travis Konecny from the second-line left wing spot aside Sean Couturier and Jakub Voracek. Konecny hasnt made enough of that rich opportunity in recent games.Pittsburgh Penguins: Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is pegged to start Thursdays contest versus the Kings after Matt Murray stopped 32 of 33 shots in Wednesdays victory over the Ducks -- the latters season debut. Until one stumbles, Fleury and Murray are poised to split goaltending duties for Pens coach Mike Sullivan. DFS aficionados, in particular, should check in regularly.San Jose Sharks: You cant fault backup Aaron Dell for feeling bored in San Jose. Despite running warm and cool through the first mini-leg of the campaign, No. 1 goalie Martin Jones is pegged to start his seventh-straight game when the Sharks play the Flames Thursday. And the Sharks dont face their next back-to-back set until the end of the month.St. Louis Blues: Following coach Ken Hitchcocks latest line shuffling, Dmitri Jaskin ascends to a spot alongside center Paul Stastny and Robby Fabbri, while Nail Yakupov falls to the fourth line. The Blues have scored two goals in their past three games, so fair enough. Its also worth noting that Jori Lehtera is back at center, between Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko.Tampa Bay Lightning: The trend of starting Andrei Vasilevskiy every third game continues, as the backup to Ben Bishop is tapped to take the crease versus Boston on Thursday. Both DFS competitors and conventional fantasy owners should comfortably enlist the services of the 22-year-old against a Bruins squad that has scored only five goals in four recent contests. Also, forward Jonathan Drouin is ruled out for Thursdays action in Tampa with a head injury.Toronto Maple Leafs: Young Nikita Soshnikov made a positive impression in his season debut for the Maple Leafs against the Oilers earlier this week, collecting a (beauty) assist on three shots, and earning praise from coach Mike Babcock. During Tuesdays broadcast of the game, TSN analyst Dave Poulin echoed our earlier sentiments in suggesting Soshnikov might flourish further on a spirited line with Nazem Kadri -- with whom he saw limited action last season. While Babcock might shy away from splitting up the effective trio of Connor Brown/Kadri/Leo Komarov now, this is a long season. And dynasty fantasy owners with an eye on the long game might give Soshnikov careful consideration before others jump on board.Vancouver Canucks: According to ESPNs Pierre LeBrun, the Canucks are actively looking to trade for a 20-goal scorer. But LeBrun also points out that such a move is easier said than done, and they wont force a trade if it doesnt make any sense. All things considered, including the fact that such a player has been on Vancouvers wish-list since spring, such a transaction feels improbable in the immediate future. Dont be surprised if Loui Eriksson gets another shot -- and soon -- on a line with the Sedin twins. Having scored only 16 goals in 10 games (by comparison, the Rangers have scored 40), the club has little to lose in giving the Swedish Connection another shot to jell. Despite a sluggish four-assist start to the season for Eriksson, a little patience may pay off handsomely for his fantasy owners.Washington Capitals: Coach Barry Trotz appears to like what he sees from Justin Williams on the right side of Alex Ovechkin and centerman Nicklas Backstrom -- the veteran winger remains in that slot for Thursdays second of a home-and-home with the Jets. Despite the one lonely goal to date, Williams can be relied on to contribute with regularity soon enough, especially if he remains on the Capitals top scoring line.Winnipeg Jets: The odds of seeing Jacob Trouba in another NHL sweater this season appear to be shrinking daily, according to TSNs Darren Dreger:As for the chances of Trouba getting traded, I still feel like theyre slim and I have no reason to believe thats going to change. I dont think that the resolve of Winnipeg Jets ownership and management has changed even a little bit since last we spoke. And I doubt very much that its going to change, even though theyre going through some tough times -- more injury-related than anything else. ... So for me, if theres change, change is going to be executed by Jacob Trouba. And as much pressure as fans and those on the outside might think Winnipeg as a team is feeling, I believe Jacob Trouba is feeling 10 times more pressure. Because the notion of blowing off a full NHL season at his age at this point in his career -- I cant for the life of me believe he wants to do it.A six-year deal worth $5.5 million in average annual value from the Jets is reportedly there for the signing, if/when Trouba concedes that getting paid to play hockey even in Winnipeg is better than not playing pro hockey at all. For what its worth, the Canadiens, Red Wings and Bruins are believed to lead a substantial pack of interested parties. So we can safely assume the trade price for the right-handed 22-year-old must be mammoth. NEW YORK -- James Harden and the Houston Rockets spent plenty of energy trying to knock off the champs. They had more than enough left a night later.Harden had 30 points and 15 assists, and Houston routed the New York Knicks 118-99 on Wednesday night. Were a special group and were fairly new, Harden said, so the more were going to continue to build and do things and play the right way no matter who were playing, the better off well be.The NBAs leader coming into the day with 11.8 assists per game, Harden toyed with the Knicks defense, setting up teammates for lobs or open 3-pointers as the Rockets easily bounced back from a 128-120 loss in Cleveland on Tuesday.Eric Gordon added 21 points for Houston, which has won seven straight at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks havent defeated the Rockets at home since Jan. 26, 2009, so long ago that their coach was current Houston coach Mike DAntoni.Harden also grabbed six rebounds, a night after he had 41 points and 15 assists. And the Rockets got a boost from their bench, particularly Montrezl Harrell, who had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Those guys helped us keep going and then James is James, DAntoni said. Hes really good and I think he can play every night.Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points for the Knicks, who besides their poor defense also heard loud boos for their rebounding and turnovers in a dismal performance. If we dont start playing defense, were going to keep getting smacked like this, guard Derrick Rose said. It comes with effort. It comes with everybody being on the same page. The Knicks were also playing for the second straight night, but only they appeared to have tired legs. Houston quickly extended a 33-25 lead after one quarter into double digits and was ahead 68-51 at halftime.Gordon opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer to make it a 20-point game and Harden closed it with another 3 that sent the Rockets to the fourth quarter with a 100-78 lead.TIP-INSRockeets: C Nene sat out to rest on the second night of the Rockets back-to-back. With Harden in place and believing Ryan Anderson would sign there, Hornacek was interested. Obviously the pieces theyve added have made them dynamic on the offensive end, Hornacek said. For the Wild it was their first win of the season and they now have a record of 1-1-2 while the Jets fall to 2-2. Jets start a six game home stand Friday with another divisional game, home to the Dallas Stars.HOUSTON -- Not even a ninth-inning home run that ended his bid at a first career shutout could ruin Martin Perezs day. Perez threw a four-hitter for his first career complete game, leading the Texas Rangers to their seventh straight victory, 6-1 over the Houston Astros on Sunday. "When I go to the mound I think, Im the best here, and I have the ball," Perez said. "I just want to throw. Thats what I did tonight. I took the ball and threw the pitch where (catcher Geovany Soto) called it." Perez (5-3) struck out a career-high eight while walking two in earning his second straight win. Perez has allowed four runs over his last 22 2-3 innings, spanning his last three starts. "He threw a lot of strikes out there today," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "Hes good at keeping the ball down. He has good mechanics. I think when he gets erratic its only because he tries to do too much. As long as he stays throwing the ball through the catcher and spots his fastball down in the zone the way hes capable of doing, hell be fine." Perez retired 15 of 17 batters from the third to the eighth, including nine in a row before Jake Elmores single with two outs in the eighth. "His fastball command was there. His changeup was there," Soto said. "He had a lot of early outs in the third, fourth, fifth innings. "I think he looks a little bit different. He has more conviction, more aggressiveness, more attack. I feel like hes doing that. Whenever he needs a strike leading off the inning or leading off an at-bat, he got a strike. He uses all his pitches real well and he used all his pitches well today." The left-hander gave a lot of credit to Soto. "He helped me out with pitches, and we have a good relationship," Perez said. "He called the pitches. I just threw it 100 per cent. Hes a good catcher and called a good game." Chris Carter ruined Perezs shutout bid with a home run with two outs in the ninth inning, but Perez said the home run didnt matter because the most important thing was the Rangers won. Alex Rios had two hits, drove in a run and scored twice in his second game with the Rangers, who have won 12 of their last 13 games. Adrian Beltre also had two hits. Dallas Keuchel (5-7) allowed six runs and eight hits with eight strikeouts in 8 2-3 innings. He was the second Astros starter to go into the ninth this season, as Bud Norris threw eight-pluus innings May 8 against the Los Angeles Angels. nike free 3.0 preço. "That was the best I felt all year," Keuchel said. "(Perez) was better than me today, and I didnt make pitches when I needed to." Keuchel set down the first 13 batters before Rios beat out a grounder to short with one out in the fifth for the Rangers first hit. Soto then put the Rangers ahead 1-0 with a ground-rule double to centre field. Rios laced a two-out double down the right-field line in the sixth to extend the lead to 2-0. Elvis Andrus reached on an error with one out and advanced to second on Beltres single before scoring on Rios double. Perez had his offence to thank for the opportunity to finish off the complete game, as he was told he would not be given a chance to finish it if the Rangers did not score at least two runs in the ninth. The offence plated four in the inning. Texas upped the lead to 5-0 in the ninth on Jurickson Profars based-loaded single with two outs, plating Rios and Jeff Baker. Craig Gentry came around to score on an errant thrown by L.J. Hoes, and Profar scored on Leonys Martins single to make it 6-0. Houston has lost five in a row and nine of the last 10 games. The Astros own the worst record in the majors at 37-79. "I think we were overly aggressive," Houston manager Bo Porter said. "It would have been a better idea to slow the game down and get the pace in your favour, but it felt like the more outs (Perez) recorded, the quicker our at-bats got." NOTES: Texas DH Lance Berkman went 2 for 3 with a home run and drove in two runs in his first rehab game Saturday night for the Rangers Triple-A affiliate, Round Rock. Berkman has been on the disabled list since July 7 with left hip inflammation. . Texas RHP Neftali Feliz was expected to throw Saturday for Round Rock but did not pitch as a precaution because of mild right arm triceps tendinitis. He will throw on flat ground Sunday and be re-evaluated. Feliz has been rehabbing from Tommy John surgery last year. . Texas sent SS Leury Garcia to the White Sox on Sunday to complete the trade for Rios. . Houston SS Jonathan Villar, who had not started the previous three games because of a left thumb sprain, did not start Sundays game, either. Porter said Villar was not in the lineup Sunday because the Rangers were starting a left-hander and the thumb bothers Villar more batting right, but Villar is expected to start Monday.
